Valter Spano is a seasoned finance executive, entrepreneur, and art patron with 25+ years of success across diverse industries. His expertise includes managing funds for institutional and private clients, leading complex real estate developments in Europe, Africa, and Asia. He is the co-founder of a globally-recognized art gallery business. He is also co-founder of UBRI (Ultrastructural Biophysics Research Institute), a leading med-tech research institute.
Valter’s career has been built at the intersection of education, institutional development and the orchestration of long-term partnerships with brands and organisations of global standing. Across two decades, he has designed and delivered educational programmes that translate the authority of leading institutions into experiences that schools, ministries and learners genuinely adopt
His professional formation took place in environments where credibility is the currency that opens every door: ministries of education, leading school networks, foundations, and the cultural and scientific institutions whose endorsement determines whether a programme is taken seriously or dismissed. That training shaped his conviction that education at the highest level is not about content, but about whom the content belongs to.
That conviction is the founding premise of Novi Education, and it is most clearly visible in Moonshot — the company’s flagship programme — for which Valter built and continues to lead the partnership with Space Center Houston. The programme has been delivered in classrooms across Italy and Austria during the 2024 and 2025 academic years, with NASA educators in physical attendance, and is now entering its platform-enabled phase for global scale.
Alongside the operational leadership of Novi, Valter maintains active dialogue with ministries of education and high-level institutional counterparts across Europe, Asia and emerging markets — including the conversations that are bringing Moonshot into new geographies and the partnerships that will define the next generation of Novi programmes.
As Co-CEO, Valter leads the company alongside Francesco De Ferrari, with primary responsibility for the dimensions of Novi where educational programmes, partner institutions and operational delivery meet.
Valter leads the design of every Novi programme and the relationship with the institution that anchors it. From the initial decision on which partner to approach, through the negotiation of the partnership structure, to the pedagogical and operational architecture of the programme itself, Valter ensures that each Novi offering meets the standard that justifies the partner’s name being attached to it.
Valter is the operational lead for Moonshot, the company’s flagship programme. He oversees the relationship with Space Center Houston, the rollout in active markets – Italy, Austria, India – and the institutional conversations that bring Moonshot into new geographies. The platform-enabled phase of Moonshot, currently under build with CTC Health, falls under his operational coordination.
Valter leads the dialogue with ministries of education, leading school networks and the institutional counterparts whose decisions determine whether a programme reaches national scale. The conversations through which Moonshot is brought into European, Asian and emerging markets pass through this dimension of his work.
